Even a Resilience Coach can fall into bad habits...
We can all fall into bad habits and not listen to the signs and clues.
It took back spasms, agony and lying in the rain before I listened!
What are you putting off or ignoring…?
Are you on the right path?
Resilience is about learning from life’s events and finding ways to put that learning to good use.
Are you on the Path of Possibility or the Path of Limitation
Building and maintaining your Resilience will enable you to stay on the right path.
Resilience: it's a long game.
Becoming Resilient cannot be achieved via a “quick fix”, “one-off” session. Building and maintaining your Resilience requires regular effort and helpful habits.
How each individual recovers from the Pandemic will be unique to them and it will require dedicated long-term effort and support from Organisations.
Have you ever asked yourself ‘how do I learn?’
How do you learn? And how are you going to genuinely learn form the last year?
A good level of Resilience enables you to be more open-minded, have a Growth Mindset and allow yourself to take forward key learning from the past year.
Adaptability vs Agility
Alongside being told, “you need to be Resilient”, we’re also being told to “be adaptable” and “be agile”. However is it really clear to you what these terms mean? Which one energises you more?!
Adaptable is about our overall openness to change and Agility is our capacity to quickly to change direction. There is a difference.
Emotional Health or Mental Health?
What more can we do to enable people to feel comfortable chatting about themselves and their wellbeing?
There is still too much stigma around the term “mental health”, what if we chat about Emotional Health?
Honestly, how adaptable are you?
What have you learnt about how adaptable you really are, over the past year?
We will have a different perspective on this, depending on whether we “like” or dislike” the change we are doing.
Are some people naturally more resilient? It’s times like these that push people’s resilience to the limit
We only know how Resilient we are when we have to face adversity.
For some, the Pandemic may be the first time they’ve had to do this, for others, they’ve had to be Resilient for decades or centuries.
Are you receptive to new ideas, or do you feel stuck in the mud?
How do you learn? What enables you to be curious and open to new ideas?
Now is the time to build your Resilience by reflecting and deciding what you want to take forward from the pandemic and what you want to leave behind.
Playing to your Strengths and challenging your confirmation bias will help.
